University of Maryland Equine Studies Coordinator Dr. Amy Burk
Dr. Amy Burk (M.S., Ph.D. in Animal Nutrition, Virginia Tech) is a Maryland native and serves as the coordinator for undergraduate Equine Studies in the Animal and Avian Sciences Department at UMD, giving lectures and labs in Horse Management and Equine Science. As an Extension Horse Specialist, Dr. Burk provides statewide leadership and training and is project coordinator for the Equine Rotational Grazing Demonstration Site in Ellicott City. Dr. Burk’s awards include the Outstanding Educator Award from the Equine Science Society and the Poffenberger Excellence in Teaching and Advising Award from the College of Agriculture and Natural Resources at UMD. |
